We offer classroom Music from Year 7-12. In Year 7 and 8 it is part of the core subjects offered, where students get the opportunity to learn the basics on contemporary instruments, including piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Students also can start learning the basics of music notation and music technology.

In Year 9 and 10, Music is an elective, where students benefit from an individual program focusing on their development on their instrument. Students learn about songwriting and the recording process using Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Students are also given opportunities to develop their abilities in working in smaller groups, making music together.

The College runs a very successful VET Music Industry (Performance) Program. Students often chose to do Units 1&2 in Year 10, then complete Units 3&4 in Year 11. The course focuses on key skills in performance, including technical skills, improvisation, and stagecraft. Every year, our VET Music students achieve some of the highest results in the school, and consistently several students achieve study scores in the 40s.

We also offer VCE Music Performance, Music Investigation and Music Styles and Composition for Year 12 students. Our students work closely with their instrumental and classroom teachers to develop a sophisticated final performance program for their practical exam. These subjects also have a stronger focus on aural and theory skills, thus a larger part of class time is dedicated to developing these skills.

Our school is located on the land of the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation. As a school, we aim to embrace difference in its many forms. In culture, gender and religion. We ask you to respect everyone, yourself included.
